Best Kid-Friendly Beaches in Dubai (and What to Pack)

Dubai is blessed with year-round sunshine, and when the weather cools down, there’s nothing better than a family beach day. If you’re a parent with babies or toddlers, though, not every beach is created equal. You’ll want somewhere safe, clean, and with family-friendly facilities.

Here’s a round-up of the best kid-friendly beaches in Dubai, plus some tips on what to pack for a stress-free day by the sea.

🌊 The Best Kid-Friendly Beaches in Dubai

1. Kite Beach

A Dubai favourite, Kite Beach is perfect for families. The sand is clean and soft, there’s a running track (I used to run pushing my little one in the stroller, followed by breakfast and a dip in the sea), and plenty of cafés nearby. The shallow water makes it easy for little ones to paddle.

Top tip: Go early in the morning before it gets crowded, the parking can be pretty difficult.

2. Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) – The Beach

If you’re looking for more facilities, The Beach at JBR has it all. From shaded play areas to family-friendly restaurants, it’s great for a full day out. The promenade is stroller-friendly, and you can easily pop into a café for snacks or an air-conditioned break.

Top tip: There are changing facilities and showers close to the beach — very handy for families.

3. Al Mamzar Beach Park

This one is a bit of a hidden gem out towards Sharjah. Al Mamzar has five beach coves, large green areas, playgrounds, and even shaded barbecue spots. It’s ideal if you’re looking for a relaxed family day out away from the busier tourist beaches.

Top tip: There’s a small entry fee, but it’s worth it for the facilities and quieter atmosphere.

4. Sunset Beach (Umm Suqeim Beach)

If you’re after stunning views of the Burj Al Arab, this is the spot. It’s quieter than Kite Beach, and the long stretch of sand gives plenty of space for toddlers to run around.

Top tip: It’s less commercial, so bring your own snacks and drinks.

5. Dubai Islands Beach

This is my current favourite spot because of how quiet it is. We often have the whole beach to ourselves, the water is so calm and the beach is well landscaped with all of the amenities that you need.

The downside... the flight path overhead, but perhaps thats a plus if you have plane-obsessed little ones!

👜 What to Pack for a Toddler Beach Day

Beach days with little ones can feel like a military operation, but with the right essentials, you’ll be set for fun (and fewer meltdowns).

Here’s a Dubai beach day packing list for babies and toddlers:

  • Snacks & Water: Always pack more than you think you’ll need. Hydration is key.

  • Sun Protection: Hats, baby-safe sunscreen, and lots of shade breaks.

  • Light Cotton Clothes: Dubai’s sun can be harsh, so breathable clothing is a must. Our collection includes lots of cool cotton outfits to keep little ones comfortable and stylish at the same time.

  • Beach Poncho / Cover-Up: Perfect for post-swim cuddles or when the breeze picks up. Our soft, hooded beach ponchos are designed for easy changes and to keep your toddler snug.

  • Towels & Wipes: Obvious, but always worth an extra pack of wipes.

  • Toys & Buckets: If you don’t want to lug extras, the sand and sea will do the entertaining!

Dubai has some of the best beaches in the world, and many are surprisingly family-friendly. Whether you prefer the lively atmosphere at Kite Beach or the quieter vibes of Al Mamzar, there’s something for every family.

And when it comes to what to wear, don’t forget to pack light, breathable cotton clothes and a cosy poncho for your little one, both practical and adorable for those sandy, salty, sunshine-filled days.
