-
Beach Picnic and Playtime: Dubai's beaches are not only beautiful but also offer a fantastic setting for a family picnic. Pack a basket with your favorite treats, a cozy blanket, and head to Jumeirah Beach or Kite Beach. Enjoy the sea breeze, build sandcastles, and engage in beach games for a perfect family day out. Let me know your favourite beach in the comments.
-
Desert Safari Adventure: Embark on a thrilling desert safari for an action-packed family day. Ride the dunes in a 4x4, try sandboarding, and experience the beauty of the desert landscape. Many tour operators offer family-friendly packages that include activities for all ages, making it a memorable adventure for everyone.
- Alserkal Avenue: For a dose of culture and creativity, visit Alserkal Avenue in Al Quoz. This art hub hosts contemporary art galleries, design studios, and unique installations. Take a stroll through the trendy warehouses and enjoy the vibrant art scene, fostering a love for creativity among family members of all ages.
-
Aquaventure Waterpark: Beat the winter warmth by diving into the Aquaventure Waterpark at Atlantis, The Palm. With thrilling water slides, a lazy river, and a dedicated children's play area, it's the perfect destination for a day filled with aquatic adventures. The park's warm waters make it a comfortable and enjoyable experience during the cooler winter months.
-
Visit a Park: Explore the lush greenery and let the kids run wild in a playground. My current favourite is Dubai Hills Park with the multiple pay areas, bouncy area and splash pad, there is enough to keep the family busy all day. For Burj Khalifa views then head to the new Opera playground in Burj Park and take a walk around the fountains. On my list is Dubai Creek Park, offering a range of activities for families, I plan to rent a bike and then head to the mini golf.
-
Global Village: Dive into a world of diverse cultures at the Global Village. During winter, this international-themed park comes alive with entertainment, food, and shopping stalls representing countries from around the globe. It's a fantastic way for the whole family to experience different cultures in one place.
- Visit a Market: Ripe Market at Police Academy Park has something for everyone, with food stalls, a Sandersons cafe, petting zoo and plenty of kids activities... of and of course the lovely stalls by local retailers like me!
- Dubai Canal Cruise: Experience Dubai from a different perspective with a canal cruise. Choose from daytime or evening cruises and enjoy the stunning architecture along the Dubai Canal. Some tours offer dinner or afternoon tea options, providing a relaxing and scenic way for families to unwind together.
- Dubai Safari Park: Home to around 3,000 animals, with 78 species of mammals – including 10 different carnivores and 17 primates – 50 types of reptiles, 111 kinds of birds plus amphibians and invertebrates. Do not be fooled, it may be called a 'safari park' but it is definitely a zoo, which is why it is best to visit in Winter so that the weather is bare-able to walk around.
